A six-wheeler Isuzu FVR34 Q Euro-IV truck fitted with an 8,000-liter water tanker now belongs to the Philippine Red Cross, courtesy of ACMobility and dealer principal Iconic Dealership, Inc. (IDI) through its Isuzu Pasig branch. The formal turnover happened on May 12, 2026, in Mandaluyong City, with Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) lending its support to make the handover official.
The ceremony was attended by the following names: ACMobility CEO Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala and IDI Isuzu Brand Head Eric Wambangco were there alongside IPC President Mikio Tsukui, PRC Chairman Richard Gordon, and PRC Secretary General Dr. Gwendolyn Pang.
“These Isuzu trucks are more than the commercial vehicles they started out as – they are mobile lifelines, purpose-built to bring relief and hope. In times of crisis, the durability, reliability and power that Isuzu builds into every one of its vehicles gives the Philippine Red Cross the strength to push through.”
The truck is headed to Cebu, where clean water access tends to take a serious hit during disasters. Once deployed, it will handle water distribution, hygiene promotion, and other sustained humanitarian work in affected communities.
Gordon was straightforward about why partnerships like this one count. "Partnerships like this allow us to respond faster and serve more people, especially in areas where water scarcity becomes a serious health risk after disasters," the PRC chairman said.
As for IPC’s side, Tsukui kept his remarks focused on what the vehicle represents beyond the metal. "We are proud to witness our dealer partner ACMobility, together with Iconic Dealership, take part in this meaningful initiative with the Philippine Red Cross. At Isuzu, we believe mobility can make a real difference in people's lives, especially during times of crisis," he said.
So what exactly did the Red Cross receive? The FVR34 is part of Isuzu's F-Series medium-duty lineup, and it is built for exactly this kind of heavy lifting. Its reinforced chassis and high axle capacity let it carry up to 8,000 liters of water across different terrain and road conditions. Under the hood sits Isuzu's 6HK1-TCN Blue Power Diesel Engine, a Euro IV-compliant unit that balances solid performance with fuel efficiency and lower emissions.
Inside, the cab is roomy enough for extended operations, the entry height is manageable during emergency situations, and routine maintenance is kept simple through accessible engine layout. Add IPC's nationwide aftersales network to the picture and the Red Cross has a truck it can keep running for the long haul, wherever it ends up being deployed.
Wambangco summed up the sentiment from IDI's end.“We are confident that this vehicle will become a valuable part of the Philippine Red Cross fleet for many years and continue supporting their mission of serving and uplifting lives across the country,” he said.
Getting clean water to communities right after a disaster is one of the most urgent and often overlooked priorities in emergency response. Having a capable, well-supported truck dedicated to that job is a major help.
