Foton Motor Philippines is shifting its partnership with DHL Summit Solutions Inc. (DSSI) into higher gear, sealing a fresh collaboration that puts sustainability and efficiency front and center.
An 18-year veteran in the Philippine logistics scene, FOTON isn’t exactly new to making waves. It was the first Chinese automaker to break into the country’s Top 10 automotive brands, well ahead of the now-crowded field of Chinese carmakers. That momentum continues with its latest handover to DSSI: a 45-unit fleet composed of both light- and heavy-duty workhorses.
The stars of the delivery? Twenty-three FOTON Tornado 3.6 EV trucks, which serve as a major step forward in DSSI’s drive toward greener, low-emission operations. These full-electric light-duty trucks are set to roll immediately into action, transporting essential goods and everyday commodities, real-world proof that EVs can handle high-volume logistics without breaking a sweat.
Backing them up are 22 units of the GTL 6×4 Tractor Head, FOTON’s heavy-duty prime mover built for long hauls and serious cargo. The combined fleet underscores DSSI’s push for both sustainability and world-class efficiency, pairing zero-emission transport with heavy-duty muscle.
“In logistics, reliability is not a luxury; it is the foundation. Foton Motor Philippines has been in the country for almost 19 years, and DSSI’s confidence is a powerful endorsement of our commitment to providing reliable, durable, and efficient commercial vehicles to the Philippine market.”
These EV workhorses aren’t just for show, either. DSSI plans to put them straight into real-world action, hauling essential goods and everyday necessities across the country. It’s a strong statement that electric trucks are ready for prime time in high-volume logistics, quiet, clean, and fully capable.
Levy Santos, General Manager of FMPI, added, “This is no less than a collaborative alignment between Foton and DSSI, a leading logistics venture between DHL Supply Chain and JG Summit Holdings Inc., in a unified aim to create a reliable, more sustainable, and efficient future for supply chain operations.”
With this strengthened partnership, Foton and DSSI are steering the Philippine logistics scene toward a more sustainable, high-performance future, one fleet at a time.
