Mitsubishi Fuso has just rolled out its latest heavy-duty flagship, the Super Great, in Taiwan, in partnership with local distributor Daimler Truck Asia Taiwan. The move strengthens Fuso’s long-standing presence in the market, where the brand has been a familiar name in commercial transport for more than 60 years.

The new Super Great truck is a big deal for the brand. It marks the first full model change in six years, following its debut in Japan after being revealed at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show. Taiwan is the first overseas market to receive the updated truck, with units being exported fully built from MFTBC’s Kawasaki Plant in Japan. Given Taiwan’s high demand for efficient freight movement, the choice makes plenty of sense.

According to Fuso, a major focus of the new Super Great is safety. The truck now comes packed with advanced driver-assistance systems designed to handle the complex hazards that come with operating a large vehicle. Active Brake Assist 6 uses a forward-facing camera and millimeter-wave radar to detect vehicles or pedestrians ahead, warning the driver and applying brake support when needed. Active Side Guard Assist 2.0 adds another layer of protection by monitoring the truck’s sides, issuing alerts when pedestrians, cyclists, or other vehicles are detected during turns or lane changes.

There’s also a Front Blind Spot Information System that keeps an eye on pedestrians and bicycles directly in front of the truck when pulling away at low speeds, helping prevent those easily missed incidents in busy urban areas. For fleet operators, Truckonnect telematics is on board as well, allowing real-time monitoring of vehicles via the internet and offering better visibility into day-to-day operations.

The response from the market has been strong. Pre-orders for the new Super Great have already passed the 100-unit mark as of November 2025, underlining confidence in Fuso’s latest heavy-duty offering and its role in supporting Taiwan’s logistics and commercial sectors.

"The launch of the New Super Great represents a pivotal starting point for the next generation of Taiwan’s commercial vehicle industry. Equipped with advanced German engineering and flagship-level safety technologies, we are committed to helping our customers achieve greater efficiency and competitiveness, while accelerating the alignment of Taiwan’s transportation ecosystem with global standards. DTAT will continue to serve as a trusted industry partner, working alongside fleet operators in Taiwan to build a safer, more sustainable, and forward-looking transportation landscape."
