MMDA acquires heavy-duty Isuzu Giga trucks, improving emergency road situations and quick accident response.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has recently acquired two Isuzu Giga C-Series wrecker cranes. The 'giga-ntic' trucks are intended to improve the MMDA's response to road emergencies and disasters, especially in situations involving large vehicles.

These Isuzu Giga wrecker cranes can tow up to 50 tons, which can really be helpful in handling most road incidents quickly. As reported by Carmudi, MMDA Acting Chairman Attorney Don Artes mentioned that these trucks would be used to remove vehicles from accident sites promptly, helping to keep traffic moving and roads clear.

"The wrecker crane will be used in case of a roadside accident or breakdown involving heavy vehicles. Vehicles involved in accidents should be removed from the site as soon as possible to allow normal traffic and prevent obstruction in the road."

If you are curious about these wreckers that are made to help, the MMDA's new trucks are similar to the Isuzu CYH52 Rigid Truck, with a gross vehicle weight of 41,000 kilograms and a 6WG1-TCN engine. The truck's engine can produce up to 414 horsepower and 1,863 Newton meters of torque, making it reasonable for the heavy-duty requirements of the MMDA. Good choice, MMDA!

The trucks also come with several features that may really be beneficial for road safety and efficiency, such as a Euro 5-compliant diesel engine, an anti-lock braking system, and a reinforced chassis frame. The trucks also have an electronic tilting cab, a quick-access front panel, and adjustable power steering, making them easier and safer to operate.

The addition of these wrecker cranes was celebrated in a recent blessing ceremony led by MMDA Acting Chair Don Artes and MMDA General Manager Usec. Procopio Lipana. Seeing the MMDA choose Isuzu for such important roles shows how reliable these trucks are. If you're thinking about getting a new vehicle, why not check out what Isuzu has to offer?
