Hino and Fuso might be rivals now, but not for long, as four huge truck companies are now on the same road. Toyota, Daimler Truck, Hino Motors, and Mitsubishi Fuso have signed a final deal to form a new company that will bring together Hino and Mitsubishi Fuso. This was reported by AutoIndustriya, and it follows their earlier plan to combine their efforts in building and developing trucks and buses.
The four companies shared that the new company will start operating by April 2026. It will be set up as a holding company, which means it will own 100% of both Hino and Mitsubishi Fuso. Toyota and Daimler Truck will each own 25% of this holding firm. The company will be based in Tokyo, and Karl Deppen, the current CEO of Mitsubishi Fuso, will be the head of the new business.

The brands said the goal is to make truck production and development more efficient by working together, which is expected to make Japanese truckmakers more competitive, especially in Asia. The group also wants to help solve current issues in the truck world, like fuel efficiency and improving transport systems.
Karl Deppen shared this new company brings together trusted brands and experienced teams to better support customers. Satoshi Ogiso from Hino added that this was a rare chance to combine different ideas and work toward the same goal. Daimler Truck’s Karin Rådström shared that teaming up will help both brands keep up with fast changes in the trucking world, while Toyota’s Koji Sato said this step is just the beginning, and they will continue to work toward a better future for trucks.
"The collaboration of these four companies is truly a 'once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.' In addition to the business synergies, the synergistic effects arising from the meeting and blending of different cultures and environments are immeasurable. I am confident that we will become a strong and resilient team that empathizes with each other and contributes to society under the same shared aspirations. As a new commercial vehicle company rooted in Japan, we will work together to create an ever better future."
Plans for the future also include making electric and smart trucks, and maybe even ones powered by hydrogen. The full name and other info will be announced in the coming months. While waiting, you can check out truck options already available at TruckDeal.com.ph.
