Hino Philippines is reigniting the Love Bus nostalgia with its newest people carrier, the HS8J Low Floor City Bus. Just like the model that precedes it, the modern Love Bus is all about smooth and a pleasurable commuting experience that’s designed for city operations and stability.

“Hino is proud to offer this new HS8J Low Floor City Bus. As the only commercial vehicle brand in the country offering complete One-Stop Shop advantage for customers, Hino is ready and committed to support the Filipino entrepreneur. From truck chassis supply, to rear body design and production, special utility requirements and all the way through aftersales, we offer maximized uptime while minimizing costs. That’s Hino’s Total Support guarantee.”

The model features a ground clearance of 375mm which makes it a stable bus for passengers thanks to its low floor and center of gravity. Urban commuters will enjoy the reduced sway that the low floor brings, and even standing passengers are able to get a secure foothold even when the roads get a little rough.

Occupants may also find themselves using the side kneeling function which eases the ingress and egress to and from the vehicle as the feature allows for the doors to be lowered to the standard gutter height. Not only does this make the bus exceedingly convenient with its Step-Free design, but it also helps passengers that don’t want or cannot tackle a flight of stairs upon boarding. Furthermore, a folding ramp allows for wheelchair access.

Cabin space is optimized and the vehicle’s large flat floor area allows for it to accommodate up to 62 passengers with 36 seated and 26 standing. Interior LED lights are warm in color and 32-inch TVs are also placed in the cabin in order to provide a nice ambiance for occupants and some entertainment on their commute. Air conditioning is also helped along by Denso and further enhanced by Sharp’s Plasmacutter Ion Generator which purifies the air by disabling contaminants. Sanitation is also a key component of the bus’ components thanks to anti-bacterial and anti-viral interior panels.

Powering the Love Bus HS8J is a Hino J08E common rail, direct injection Euro 4 engine that is coupled with a ZF 6-speed automatic transmission that brings 276 hp and 824 Nm of torque while maintaining efficiency and providing a smooth ride. There are also auto adjusting disc brakes with ABS for peace of mind during emergency stop situations.
