It’s no longer about going head-to-head. Isuzu Motors and Volvo Group have renewed their partnership with a new agreement that will last at least 20 years. The goal of this alliance is the joint development of a medium heavy-duty truck platform for Japan and other Asian markets, using Volvo Group’s technology and expertise.
The deal also covers the supply of important parts such as powertrains from Volvo Group, along with ongoing technical support for development and quality checks. Both companies said the partnership will help them improve platform development and customer support, making sure the new trucks are ready for market use.
For Isuzu Motors, the goal is to keep delivering sustainable and competitive products with the help of Volvo’s technology and resources. Company leaders shared that this deeper collaboration builds on the trust established in their 2020 framework agreement and creates more stability for their future truck models.
"This new agreement marks a significant milestone in the deepening of trust and collaboration between Isuzu Motors and Volvo Group. By combining our technological strengths and expertise, we are paving the way for the future of medium heavy-duty trucks in Japan and across Asia. And it will further enhance the stability and reliability of our products and services for customers.”
Volvo Group also noted that this setup gives both sides a chance to improve efficiency and bring more value to customers, while strengthening their position in the Asian market. The companies expect to create stronger synergies that will help them address logistics challenges in the years ahead through sharing of their technology and scaling resources.
