Nobody wants to deal with a front tire blowout, but Volvo’s trying to make that moment a lot less scary. Volvo Trucks has improved its Dynamic Steering system by adding a new feature that can sense when a front tire goes flat. The system quickly helps the driver keep the truck going straight and avoids the strong pull that usually happens during a blowout. This update is meant to help lower the chances of accidents and give truck drivers more control when something goes wrong on the road.

The company explained that when a front tire bursts, the truck usually swerves or tilts to one side. Without any help, the driver has to react fast to avoid going off course. Volvo’s updated steering now responds faster by stepping in as soon as the tire issue is detected, helping keep the truck in its lane right away.

Volvo’s Traffic Safety Director, Anna Wrige Berling, said this helps make the roads safer for both the driver and other people around them. She shared that blowouts can be dangerous, and this new steering feature adds an extra layer of safety.

Aside from emergency help, the system also lowers the effort needed to steer, especially at low speeds. It cuts down the amount of force needed on the steering wheel by around 75 percent, making it easier to turn or reverse in tight spots. For drivers who sit behind the wheel for long hours, this helps ease the strain on their backs, necks, and shoulders.

The updated system also helps during normal driving. It keeps the truck stable on bumpy roads, in strong winds, or when the surface is uneven. It automatically adjusts and filters out unwanted wheel movements. It can also lightly counter-steer if the truck starts to slip or move out of its lane, and alerts the driver through gentle steering feedback.

Volvo’s Dynamic Steering works alongside other safety features, like Lane Keeping Assist and Stability Assist. It’s also used in the Pilot Assist system, which helps keep a safe distance from other vehicles while steering the truck steadily.

Drivers can also choose how they want their steering to feel. They can pick from pre-set modes or adjust the system to fit their own comfort and road needs. The system is now available for Volvo’s FH, FH Aero, FMX, and FM trucks. See what Volvo trucks are available now for your business at TruckDeal.com.ph
