Volvo Trucks continues to set the bar for safety in commercial vehicles. The latest addition to its list of top-rated trucks is two variants of the Volvo FH with standard cab, which have now earned Euro NCAP’s highest score of five stars. The recognition reinforces Volvo Trucks’ long-standing commitment to safety, a core value of the brand.
This achievement follows the first rounds of Euro NCAP safety testing, where all Volvo trucks submitted—including the FM and FH Aero models—have received five-star ratings. The full list of Volvo trucks with maximum Euro NCAP scores now includes:
- Volvo FM 4x2 tractor
- Volvo FM 6x2 rigid
- Volvo FH 4x2 tractor
- Volvo FH 6x2 rigid
- Volvo FH Aero 4x2 tractor
- Volvo FH Aero 6x2 rigid

All six Volvo models also meet Euro NCAP’s City Safe criteria, thanks to strong visibility and active safety systems designed to protect pedestrians, cyclists, and other vulnerable road users in urban traffic.
Volvo Trucks was the first manufacturer to earn five stars when Euro NCAP launched its safety rating program for heavy commercial trucks in 2024. A five-star rating indicates that a vehicle meets or exceeds standards for driver support, collision avoidance, and overall traffic safety.
The Euro NCAP truck tests evaluate vehicles across three main areas: safe driving, which includes occupant monitoring, visibility, and driver assistance systems such as speed control; collision avoidance, covering frontal collisions, low-speed maneuvering impacts, and lane departure incidents; and post-crash, which assesses the availability of rescue information to support emergency response.
Euro NCAP plans to expand testing in the future to include crash protection and evaluations across different transport segments. For Volvo Trucks, the five-star rating aligns with the company’s vision of a zero-accident future, reflecting ongoing efforts to develop systems that not only protect but also predict and prevent accidents.
