Volvo Trucks is taking urban logistics to the next level with its new 14-tonne Volvo FL Electric. Building on the success of the original FL Electric, one of Volvo’s first medium-duty trucks with an all-electric driveline, this latest variant combines compact, city-friendly dimensions with near-silent operation and zero tailpipe emissions, making it ideal for door-to-door deliveries on crowded streets.

The new FL Electric comes with wheelbases ranging from 3,800 to 6,500 mm, multiple axle configurations, and flexible battery options to suit different operational needs. Its 145 kWh battery provides up to approximately 200 km of range depending on load, driving style, and ambient conditions. The 180 kW electric motor delivers smooth and responsive performance while the battery installation leaves the frame clear for bodywork. A minimum vehicle width of 2.4 meters improves maneuverability in tight city streets, and ground clearance of 240 mm helps tackle uneven surfaces. DC fast-charging can bring the battery from 20 to 80 percent in about 1.28 hours with eight battery units.
The 14-ton FL Electric expands Volvo’s growing electric truck lineup, which also includes 16- and 18-ton FL Electrics and FE Electrics capable of handling gross combination weights of up to 26 tonnes. Since introducing its electric truck range in 2019, Volvo has produced eight battery-electric models and delivered over 5,000 units worldwide across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Australia.
Production of the new 14-tonne FL Electric will begin in the second half of 2026, giving urban transport operators a sustainable, flexible, and highly capable option for low-emission deliveries. With any luck, the Philippines will be among the countries the 14-ton FL Electric will make a stop.
