As part of its fleet of light and powerful workhorses, Dongfeng Trucks Philippines has the Captain E, which is an affordable light-duty commercial truck. It comes in different body configurations such as the Aluminum Composite Van, Dropside Body, Multi-purpose Van, and Refrigerated Van.
As the 6-wheel Double Cab version of the Captain E line of light-duty trucks, the 14ft cargo model presents itself as an even more capable cargo hauler compared to its 4-wheeled counterparts. It measures 5,995 mm in length, 2,150 mm in width, and 2,410 mm in length. It also has a wheelbase of 3,308 mm. Thanks to its double cab the truck can fit more passengers at the expense of cargo capacity and space at the rear. The model is typically equipped with a dropside rear body, however, other rear body options can also be placed onto the rear of the truck.
Powering the light-duty truck is a 3.0-liter turbo-diesel engine that produces 114hp and 300 Nm of torque. That sends power to the rear via a 6-speed manual transmission. The truck rides on steel leaf springs that come with hydraulic double-acting telescopic shock absorbers. Stopping power comes from a hydraulic brake system that comes with a dual circuit with vacuum assist and ABS.
Feature-wise, the light-duty truck is equipped with a manual air conditioning unit for comfort and a single-din audio system for entertainment that can be found at the center console. Other notable features include power steering, power window, and keyless entry.
For customers with specialized logistics needs, Dongfeng offers the dropside variant of the Captain E Cargo 14ft Double Cab. This variant features an easy-to-access truck bed with generous cargo space for hauling construction materials and other equipment.
The dropside with crane variant can help with construction projects that need a tough crane system. While this variant sacrifices some cargo space, the built-in crane can help customers haul materials that can't be accessed with typical means.
The multi-purpose van variant is available for customers who prefer a versatile transportation solution. The MPV variant can act as a people-hauler while also transforming into a cargo hold in a pinch.
To protect precious cargo, the aluminum van variant of the Captain E Cargo 14ft Double Cab is best. This body configuration gives customers an added layer of protection for transporting sensitive cargo.
Dongfeng also offers a refrigerated van variant of the Captain E Cargo 14ft Double Cab truck. This variant can easily transport perishable goods for long distances while keeping the products fresh. The refrigerated van variant can also function as a vaccine transporter.
