Among the Dongfeng Trucks' Captain Series is the Captain N. It is a 6-wheeler truck that comes in two variations such as the 14-footer and the 16-footer. This light-duty truck is designed to cater to the growing demand of commercial vehicles in the Philippines. Aside from the Cab and Chassis, it can be configured as Aluminum Composite Van, Dropside Body, FB Body, and Refrigerated Van.
The 14-foot Captain N can carry up to 4,490 kg and has a wheelbase of 3,350mm, while the 16-foot variant can convey up to 7,500 kg and has a wheelbase of 3,800. Both variants are equipped with semi-elliptical alloy steel leaf springs with hydraulic double-acting telescopic shock absorber suspension system.
For convenience and entertainment, the Captain N comes with power steering, power window, keyless entry, an audio unit with MP3 and an air conditioning system.
Powering this light-duty truck is a Nissan-derived 3.0-liter turbocharged with intercooler, Double Overhead Camshaft (DOHC) diesel engine. This power mill can produce up to 138 hp and 330 Nm of torque, coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission.
This Euro IV-compliant truck has a fuel tank capacity of 110 liters. Braking system is provided by hydraulic brake, dual circuit with vacuum assist.
