Dongfeng EV 32 Overview
The Dongfeng EV32 Passenger Van is a full-size, purpose-built electric shuttle van from Chinese automaker Dongfeng Motor Corporation, capable of carrying up to 14 passengers on a single charge. Built on a monocoque body structure measuring 4,865 mm long, 1,870 mm wide, and 2,060 mm tall, it is a substantial vehicle with a 3,050 mm wheelbase and a GVW of 3,150 kg. Power comes from a liquid-cooled permanent magnet synchronous motor producing 93 hp peak and 220 Nm of peak torque, drawing from a 53.58 kWh CATL lithium iron phosphate battery pack rated at IP67 — fully dust-tight and water-resistant, an important advantage in tropical climates. Under the CLTC cycle, the EV32 delivers a claimed range of 230 km, with fast charging bringing the battery from 20 percent to 80 percent in just one hour via a CCS2 socket, while a 3.3 kW slow charger handles overnight top-ups.
Inside, the cabin is configured for commercial practicality, with textile-upholstered seats across multiple rows, height-adjustable front headrests, and a comprehensive air-conditioning system featuring PTC electric heating, an electrically driven compressor, and vents distributed throughout the cabin including a rear diffuser for passenger comfort. Safety features include ABS with EBD, reverse sensors, a high-mounted brake lamp, and a low-speed pedestrian warning system — all sensible fitments for a heavily loaded people-mover navigating busy roads. As of April 2026, the EV32 has not been officially launched in the Philippines, where Dongfeng currently operates through Diamond Auto Group EV Corp. for its commercial EV lineup and Legado Motors Inc. for its passenger car range. Fleet operators and shuttle businesses looking to electrify their operations would do well to keep an eye on any forthcoming announcement from either distributor.
