Dongfeng’s KL KD6Z is part of the brand’s line of 6-wheeler medium-duty trucks in the Philippines. It measures 9,995 mm in length, 2,500 mm in width, and 3,450 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 5,600 mm. Its long wheelbase allows the truck to have a gross vehicle weight of 18,000 kg and has a payload capacity of 12,000 kg. The truck can be outfitted with a 24ft rear body that can come in the form of an aluminum van, dropside, or as a winged van model. A cab and chassis variant is also available along with other rear body styles that can be customized to the needs of the customer.
Powering the medium-duty truck is a 6.7-liter turbo diesel engine that produces 270 hp and 970 Nm of torque. It sends power to the rear wheels via an 8-speed direct drive manual transmission. The truck rides on steel leaf springs with hydraulic double-acting telescopic shock absorbers. Stopping power comes from a full air brake dual-circuit system that comes with ABS.
For those looking for a versatile cargo hauling platform, the Dongfeng KL KD6Z can be had with a dropside variant. The rear body sides can easily be raised and lowered allowing for ease of access onto the bed of the truck. These sidings can also be used as tie-down points for larger pieces for cargo if needed.
If a more secure cargo hold is what you are after, the Dongfeng KL KD6Z also has an aluminum van variant available. This model gives a strong protective shell around the goods being transported shielding them from the elements. The body itself is also made from a sturdy structure that can survive the daily wear and tear of goods being loaded in.
For a better mix of protection and accessibility is what you need, the Dongfeng KL KD6Z can also be had as a winged van. The rear body sidings can easily be flipped up with a hydraulic system allowing for better access into the cargo area. This makes this variant also ideal for goods that require the use of a forklift.
A cab and chassis model is also available for those who have a customized build in mind or for those who already have a chosen truck rear bodybuilder ready for their vehicle.
