Foton’s Tornado M2.6C is a light-duty truck that offers interested customers a versatile platform and a strong chassis for their business needs. The truck can be equipped with a 12ft rear body. With plenty of customization options on hand depending on the needs of the customer, it can be equipped with a dropside, aluminum box, or as a Multipurpose Van (MPV).
It comes in the form of a 4-wheeler truck that has the ability to carry more cargo. It has a 2,800 mm wheelbase, a gross vehicle weight of 4,495 kg, and a payload capacity of 2,600 kg. This makes it ideal for those in the transportation or cargo hauling business as the truck is available with multiple configurations that can tackle the task. The truck can also be had with other rear bodies built to the specifications of the customer.
Powering the light-duty truck is a 2.8-liter turbocharged Cummins diesel engine. It produces 129 hp and 310 Nm of torque. The truck sends power to the rear wheels via 5-speed manual transmission. The M2.6C rides on a non-independent suspension with a three-leaf spring configuration at the front and a non-independent suspension with a 4+2 leaf spring configuration at the back. Stopping power comes with a hydraulic braking system with drum brakes at the front and rear. The truck also comes with ABS as standard for all of its models. Other standard features for the Tornado M2.6C include central control locks, air-conditioning, power windows, an AM/FM radio with CD player plus MP3.
Those looking to get a cargo-oriented version of the M2.6C will find that the Dropside variant is there to meet that need. It offers customers a bed in which they can load cargo and small sidings to help keep cargo in place. These sidings can also act as mounting points for tie-downs in case a much larger and awkwardly shaped item needs to be placed at the back of the truck.
Another cargo-oriented model for those looking for a shield against the elements is the F-Van Aluminum variant. With this model, customers can expect their goods to be protected from the rain and heat thanks to a sturdy aluminum body and lightweight marine plywood flooring.
Foton also provides an MPV variant is also available for the Foton Tornado M2.6C for those looking to get an all-rounder model that can be easily adapted to almost any need. It comes with seating for up to 16 occupants that can be folded up if more space for cargo is needed. This variant offers a good balance between cargo and passenger hauling capabilities as it can even be equipped with a rear air conditioning system.
