In 2018, Hino Motors Philippines (HMP) launched its Euro IV-powered product lineup which includes the Japanese brand's 500 Truck Series. The Hino 500 Series are medium-duty trucks that are developed to provide a more powerful driving experience, along with advanced technologies. With these 6-wheeler and 10-wheeler trucks, HMP intends to provide quality transport and flexible body application capability.
The Hino 500 Series FG8JP7A Cargo is available as a 4x2 6-wheeler, with an 8.0-liter diesel engine paired with a 6-speed manual, producing a healthy 237 hp and 716 Nm of torque. It has a gross vehicle weight of 16,000 kgs and a wheelbase of 5,530 mm.
Stopping power is provided by front and rear air brakes. Ride and comfort, on the other hand, is complemented by front semi-elliptic tapered leaf springs with shock absorbers and rear semi-elliptic main and auxiliary leaf springs.
This medium-duty truck can be customized with a variety of body configurations including an aluminum van, dropside, dumper body, flatbed truck, garbage truck, palletized truck, stake truck, and winged van.
