Hino Motors Philippines (HMP) has been providing Filipinos a wide variety of vehicles for more reliable transport needs. Among the Japanese brand's main offerings are buses. For a more versatile and comfortable ride for long drives, the company released the Midi class buses or commonly known as medium-sized buses. With great styling and efficient performance, Hino's Midibus range consists of three variants such as the FC9JL7A, the FG8JP7A, and the FG8JP7A with FOH Extension.
The FG8JP7A is based on a 6-wheeler (4x2) truck chassis. It comes with two variants available, a non-aircon, and an air-conditioned model. It has a gross vehicle weight of 16,000 kg and can be had with multiple seating configurations. For its non-aircon model, a 53 to 55 seater layout can be had with the bus. The air-conditioned variant, on the other hand, can only be had as a 53 seater model.
Powering the FG8JP7A is a 7.68-liter turbocharged diesel engine that produces 237 hp and 716 Nm of torque. It sends power to the rear wheels via a 6-speed transmission with an overdrive. The bus rides on semi-elliptic tapered leaf springs with single-action shock absorbers at the front and semi-elliptic main and auxiliary leaf springs at the rear.
