The Hino PUV 415J Class I ECO and XZU710LJ Class II S ECO are part of Hino’s modern public utility vehicle (PUV) lineup developed under the government’s PUV modernization program. These units are designed to deliver safe, efficient, and comfortable transport solutions for urban commuters. Both models feature perimeter seating, entry steps, and optimized cabin height for easier access, while their body designs follow the standard jeepney route format.

The Class I variant, Hino 415J, is a 4-wheeler PUV with a 4x2 drivetrain and seating capacity for 14 passengers. It is powered by the 2.755-liter Toyota 1GD-FTV Euro 4 diesel engine producing 144 hp and 300 Nm of torque. Paired with a 5-speed manual transmission with overdrive, it can reach up to 130 km/h and has a fuel tank capacity of 80 liters. The vehicle sits on 195/75R15 tires and features a dual-circuit hydraulic braking system. Suspension duties are handled by a front double wishbone with torsion bar springs, while the rear uses semi-elliptic main and auxiliary leaf springs with rubber rebound bumpers. With a gross vehicle weight of 3,800 kg, it is ideal for short to mid-range inner-city commuting.

The larger Class II variant, XZU710LJ, is a 6-wheeler PUV with a 4x2 drivetrain and capacity for 23 passengers plus the driver. It is powered by the N04C-WK 4.009-liter Euro 4 diesel engine, producing 150 hp and 420 Nm of torque. It uses a 6-speed manual transmission and can travel at speeds of up to 123 km/h. The fuel tank holds 100 liters, supporting longer routes. This model rides on 7.00R16-10PR tires and uses reinforced semi-elliptic leaf spring suspension systems with double-acting shock absorbers in both front and rear. With a gross vehicle weight of 4,995 kg and dimensions suited for higher passenger volume, the Class II S ECO is better suited for longer routes and denser commuting corridors.

Both units feature perimeter foam-cushioned seating, premium vinyl or leatherette interiors, and multiple step access points for passengers. Built on a single desk skeleton-type body structure with rustproofed undercoating and multi-stage paint protection, these PUVs are designed to offer long-term durability and compliance with national safety and environmental standards.
