The Isuzu Traviz is a light-duty truck designed to be both reliable and cleaner all thanks to its new Euro IV compliant engine. Locally launched in November 2019, the Isuzu Traviz is the newest addition to the commercial vehicle lineup with the S variant being the short wheelbase option for the vehicle.
Behind the cabin of the vehicle, there is enough space for a rear body that fits within the 2,950mm cab-to-end dimensions of the light truck as well as the 1,660mm body width of the vehicle. At Its beating heart is a 2.5-liter 4JA1 BluePower direct-injection diesel that’s cleaner and produces 77 hp and 177 Nm of torque. The said mill is then paired with a 5-speed manual transmission and has a leaf spring suspension at the rear with a double-wishbone suspension at the front. This allows the light truck to carry around 1,660 kg within its sub-5-meter length.
As for other specifications and features, the Isuzu Traviz comes with front disc brakes and rear drum brakes for stopping power. Moreover, it also comes with a reverse warning buzzer and a tuner radio with USB connectivity and two speakers. On the other hand, the air conditioning system is optional for the truck.
The Isuzu Traviz can also be configured in several ways, such as a closed utility van, Class 1 PUV, aluminum van, refrigerated van, and a dropside truck.
The Isuzu Traviz Utility body is the jack of all trades variant of the light truck. It offers buyers a versatile platform that can be used to carry both cargo or up to 19 passengers in the long-wheelbase variant. Its body rear is made of galvanized steel which is designed for rust and corrosion resistance. The rear body comes with dimensions of 2,950mm in length, 1,700mm in height, and 1,700mm in width. This gives the light-duty truck a total cargo space of 9 cubic meters inside the rear body. The four bench seats at the rear of the Traviz can also be folded up and out of the way to maximize the horizontal cargo volume of the rear body.
Another body configuration that the Traviz comes with is the dropside model that has rear body dimensions of 2,950mm in length, 1,700mm in width, and 300mm in depth. This application is perfect for hauling produce, construction materials, and equipment. The dropside configuration allows the user to collapse one of the walls of the bed, allowing for easy access to cargo. Owners can also benefit from the roofless design of the cargo area, allowing for taller items to be tied down and transported to their destination. The dropside variant can also be further configured according to the needs of the client.
The Isuzu Traviz Aluminum Van is the cargo-specific model of the Japanese light-duty truck. It offers users a rear body that can fit within the overall width and over-length of the truck after the cab but may vary in height. The rear body is constructed of aluminum sheets on the exterior with a structural frame made of aluminum as well. This ensures that the rear body is both light and structurally sound and is lightweight so that the maximum carrying capacity of the Traviz can be fully utilized. As standard, the Traviz also comes with a snorkel that allows the vehicle to go through floods if needed. The Isuzu Traviz Aluminum Van presents itself as a light-duty truck that is focused on cargo, and at the same time is durable thanks to its aluminum body. This type of application is perfect for logistics businesses and it’s more secure than a dropside in terms of cargo security.
A more specialized role that the Traviz can fulfill is for big to small businesses with temperature-sensitive cargo. For this particular application, the Traviz can be outfitted with an insulated aluminum box constructed with insulated sandwich panels with a temperature control unit. Depending on the builder, the configuration can cool the cargo box to temperatures as cold as -25 degrees Celsius. This application will be perfect for cold storage goods and other delicate items that need to be transported and stored to maintain freshness and quality.
