Derived from the famous L300 Versa Van of yesteryear, the L300 Cab’s styling is as purpose-driven as its predecessor, and it comes in with an unbelievable number of body configurations depending upon its intended use.
The Mitsubishi L300 originally made its appearance in 1983 in the Philippines and since then became available in several body configurations. There was the popular van configuration as well as the FB body configuration which was primarily used for business purposes in the country. In April of 2019, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines announced that it would be returning the popular light commercial vehicle into the market this time with a new motor. It would now come with a 2.2-liter diesel engine that makes 97 hp and 200 Nm of torque. It would still be available with an FB as well as a cab and chassis variant. Its overall exterior look would remain the same, however, the cab would be raised slightly to accommodate the new engine. A new grille and bumper that includes a new air dam would also be given to the updated vehicle.
On its FB body type, the L300 can seat up to 17 people, with air-conditioning and extra space for luggage. It can also come as a delivery van with a freezer-type cab for delivering perishable and frozen goods, among others. Beating within its many faces is a 2.2L 4N14 Euro 4-compliant diesel engine, coupled with a 5-speed manual transmission. In the Philippines, there is an L300 Cab waiting to be of good service from Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation.
The Mitsubishi L300 in the Philippines comes powered by a 2.2-liter diesel motor that makes 97 hp and 200 Nm of torque which comes mated to a 5-speed column shift manual transmission that sends power to the rear wheels. As a light commercial vehicle, it comes with an independent wishbone and coil spring front suspension and a semi-elliptic leaf spring rear setup. stopping power comes from a 10-inch ventilated disc brake at the front and a 10-inch leading and trailing drum brakes at the rear. It comes with 14x5-inch steel wheels wrapped with 185/R14C-8PR tires. The configuration and the sturdy chassis allow the Mitsubishi L300 to achieve a maximum gross vehicle weight of 2,345 kg, which indicates a maximum payload capacity of 1,215 kg.
As for other features, the L300 comes with a decent air conditioning system along with a 1DIN radio that comes with a USB port, SD card, and AUX input. The Mitsubishi L300 comes with 3 point seatbelts for the driver and passengers. As it is a light commercial vehicle it doesn't come with other safety features.
