Another heavy-duty truck that is part of the local UD Trucks lineup in the Philippines is the PKE Cargo model of the Croner series of trucks. It has a gross vehicle weight of between 15 to 17 tons and is only available in a 6-wheeler or 4x2 axle configuration. As this is the cargo-oriented model it can be equipped with several different rear body configurations that can be customized to the needs of the customer, which include; Aluminium, refrigerated, dumper, tanker, compactor and dropside body applications.
Powering the heavy-duty truck is an 8-liter 6-cylinder diesel engine that produces between 250 to 280 hp and between 950 to 1050 Nm of torque depending on the variant of the engine chosen. Power is set to the rear wheels via either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The truck rides on either a leaf spring or air suspension setup and comes with a full air brake system, automatic slack adjuster and an exhaust brake system. ABS is also optional for the vehicle.
