View Volkswagen Constellation 14.190 Rigid interior, exterior & road test images
The first of four variants of the Volkswagen Constellation, the Constellation 14.190 is a heavy-duty truck with only a rigid configuration. The 14.190 Rigid has seven body applications in total, a closed van, crane, refrigerated van, flatbed, dropside truck, dump truck, and wing van configuration.
Powering the 14.190 Rigid is the MAN D08 34 190 turbo-diesel with a 4.6-liter displacement putting out 184 hp and 700 Nm of torque. Transferring power from the engine to the wheels is an Eaton transmission with six forward gears and one reverse gear.
Stopping power is provided by air-actuated front and rear drum brakes. These come with safety systems like an anti-lock braking system, electronic brakeforce distribution, and automatic traction control as standard.
