The VW 9.150 OD is a heavy-duty workhorse offered in two configurations: cab and chassis or fully built minibus. It’s now more budget-friendly, with the cab and chassis priced at P2,750,000 and the minibus version at P4,000,000. It runs on a 3.8-liter MAN ISF engine with four cylinders, producing 160 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque between 1,300 to 1,700 rpm. The engine uses a common rail injection system and meets Euro 5 standards with SCR technology.
Power is delivered through a ZF 6-speed manual gearbox and a Valeo push-type clutch with a 330 mm disc. The front uses a Sifco 7K forged steel axle, while the rear is equipped with a Dana 284 tubular axle. Suspension comes in the form of semi-elliptical leaf springs and hydraulic telescopic shock absorbers, built for stability whether on long routes or city roads. The unit rides on 17.5-inch steel wheels with 215/75R17.5 tires and stops with air-actuated drum brakes on both the front and rear.
Other features include a 24V electrical system powered by two 12V 100Ah batteries, a 150-liter fuel tank, and a 23-liter ARLA tank for emission control. It has a gross vehicle weight of 9,000 kg and a curb weight of 2,950 kg. In minibus form, it can seat up to 35 passengers, making it a solid option for both transport and logistics operations.
