On November 10, 2023, Sojitz Fuso Philippines Corporation (SFP), the primary distributor of Fuso trucks, buses, and modern Public Utility Vehicles (PUVs) in the Philippines, handed over 16 Canter Class 2 and 3 Modern PUV units to Kasiglahan Transport Cooperative. The turnover ceremony took place at Primark Kasiglahan, San Jose, Rodriguez, Rizal.

The official deployment of these FUSO modern PUVs by Kasiglahan Transport Cooperative marked their introduction onto the routes of Pabahay ni Erap (Kasiglahan Village 1, Rodriguez, Rizal) and the LITEX Commonwealth Avenue loop.

SFP, in collaboration with coachbuilder Almazora Motors Corporation, played a pivotal role in co-designing these FUSO Modern PUVs. The vehicles are engineered to be air-conditioned Class 2 and 3, providing comfortable seating for 20 passengers in side-facing seats, with the flexibility to accommodate an additional 10 standing passengers.

To enhance both driver and passenger convenience, Fuso’s PUV is furnished with a front dashcam, a rear camera for the vehicle's rear, and CCTV cameras, ensuring the safety of both passengers and the vehicle. Additionally, passengers can enjoy entertainment during longer trips with the inclusion of a cabin TV.

Under the hood, the Fuso’s Class 2 and 3 Commute PUV is powered by the 4M42-3AT2 engine, a four-cylinder direct injection turbo-diesel engine. This powerhouse generates 124 hp and 294 Nm of torque driving the rear wheels. Paired with a smooth six-speed manual transmission, the Canter Commute can take on the demanding duties of ferrying passengers on a daily basis without any problems. Provided of course, routine maintenance is followed religiously.

In that regard, SFP takes pride in its widespread network of dealers throughout the Philippines, strategically located to provide assistance and support to local transport cooperatives in meeting their modern Public Utility Vehicle requirements. Additionally, SFP is optimistic that these vehicles will play a crucial role in bolstering Kasiglahan Transport Cooperative, ensuring the delivery of efficient and reliable transportation services.
