Jiangling Motors Co., Ltd. or commonly known as JMC is one of the key players in the automotive industry with its competitive commercial vehicles in the market. Its strong foothold comes from the joint ventures with Isuzu Motors Corporation of Japan and Ford Motor Company throughout the years. JMC Philippines entered the market in 2009 and is currently under Global AutoDistribution Inc. (GAI) since 2016. GAI, on the other hand, is under the management of AutoCentral Group of Companies, which is a popular company in the industry that operates numerous car brand dealerships within the Visayas and Mindanao region.
JMC can be traced its roots back in 1947 when it started as a truck repair shop in Nanchang, China named Nanchang Motors Repair Factory. The company then started assembling vehicles in 1968. Fast forward to 1996, JMC started selling its vehicles overseas like Egypt and the Middle East. The first product of the JMC-Ford partnership was the Ford Transit back in 1997. With its continuous service to the global market, JMC was able to sell 15,050 units in January 2020, which translates to a 5.1 percent increase in sales over the previous year.
Moving forward to a more sustainable environment, JMC Philippines is now selling Euro IV-ready engines and vehicles ranging from light- to heavy-duty trucks. Its vehicle range with different body configurations such as Cab and Chassis, Dropside, FB Body, Aluminum Van, Stake Body, Refrigerated Van, and more.
